Japanese Shibori Hand Dyed Silk Kimono
Stunning vintage 1920's Japanese silk kimono. It could possibly be older, but I believe it to be from the 20's. This kimono is made from hand dyed shibori silk (Japanese version of tye dye) and is ultra fine. It has a 1/4" tear on the inside of the collar in the lining only, and is otherwise in amazing condition!
Elsa Schiaparelli loved Japanese Kimonos and wore them quite often, and not just as robes! Many designers have used them in their runways in one way or another, so don't feel like this one has to be worn only at home! The Japanese woman would have worn this with an Obi, but you can use any coordinating sash or belt! Fits up to 48" bust with 11" sleeves from shoulder seams, and is 48" long from the nape of the neck.
I sometimes wear kimonos with leggings for an evening out and they are so luxurious! You will love the beautiful pattern with the Japanese phoenix in flight and the feel of the silk!
