Cosy wool slippers handmade by independent artisans in Patagonia. Made from 100% natural raw sheep wool with a vegetable tanned repurposed leather sole. Snuggly sheep's wool keeps your feet insulated yet ventilated. The natural leather is very durable yet as soft and flexible as suede. With use, these slippers will conform to the shape of the wearer’s own foot. Warm, comfortable and made to last.
Each pair includes
• a unique QR code with the artisan group’s geo-location
• a repair kit to personalize or repair as needed.
Chilote wool slippers are handmade in Patagonia through a coop system of ethical production. The natural, renewable, raw materials are locally sourced in Patagonia, supporting the region's entrepreneurs and small companies. The leather is a repurposed by-product from local farms tanned with Chilote's natural plant-based process.
There is no factory, so each pair is made “slow” with care and pride by a network of independent artisan women doing what they know & love – knitting. Co-created with the local community to empower & sustain a unique culture craft. The lead artisans are Chilote's partners, working independently to orchestrate their local network production. Their pride in their craft, along with the shared relationship with Chilote is an integral part of the high-quality standards of Chilote's products. These wool slippers get to the root of what makes traditional craftsmanship so remarkable.
Purchase of the slippers directly empowers communities to maintain their unique craft and plants native trees in Patagonia through Chilote's partnership with Fundación Reforestemos.
